Forschungsschwerpunkte

Integrative assessment of land use change within an interdisciplinary modeling framework

I am working on and with an interdisciplinary model coupling framework that links the biophysical crop model PROMET with an economic model to integratively assess land use changes on global and regional scale. Central research questions of my work include potential trade-offs in the context of land use and agriculture, for example between food security, biodiversity conservation and climate protection.

Currently, I am involved in the BMBF-funded projects BioNex and BioSDG, which are carried out in cooperation with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and the Thünen Institute for International Forestry and Forest Economics (see below for detailed description of both projects).
