Workshop on Urbanization and Urban Morphology Modeling focusing on mega urban regions - Call for Abstracts

30.06.2022  Reimuth, A.

Urbanization and the growing urban population proportion is a global megatrend that is particularly evident in South-East Asia, which is facing a very dynamic transformation. Recent advances in remote sensing and modeling approaches make it increasingly possible to monitor and project these urbanization patterns and their characteristics. To discuss current research questions and needs, we are hosting a Workshop on Urbanization and Urban Morphology Modeling focusing on mega urban regions. The Workshop, funded by the LMU Excellence Initiative, will be held at LMU Munich from Oct. 13 to Oct. 14, 2022. It aims to facilitate exchange between researchers from multiple disciplines on the current state of methods and advances in urbanization modeling.
We are pleased to announce that the Call for Abstracts for oral presentations (15min) is open! You are invited to apply for a contribution in the scientific sessions “Land-Use Change and Urbanization – Past trends and Future Scenarios, or Assessment” or “Modeling of Urban Morphology Change, with focus on mega urban regions”. Please send your submission via https://survey.ifkw.lmu.de/UMSEA_Call/ by July 31, 2022. More information on the requirements and submission process can also be found in the attached pdf file.
