Workshop on Urbanization and Urban Morphology: Modeling focusing on mega urban regions

Urbanization and the growing urban population proportion is a global megatrend that is particularly evident in South-East Asia, which is facing a very dynamic transformation. Recent advances in remote sensing and modeling approaches make it increasingly possible to monitor and project these urbanization patterns and their characteristics. To discuss current research questions and needs, we are hosting a Workshop on Urbanization and Urban Morphology Modeling focusing on mega urban regions.

The workshop will take place in at LMU Munich from 13 October 2022 1 p.m. to 14 October 2022 3 p.m.

Funded by the LMU Excellence Initiative, the workshop aims to facilitate the exchange between researchers from multiple disciplines on the current state of methods and advancements in urbanization modeling.

Presentations will be held in English and take place across two sessions:
Session I: Land-Use Change and Urbanization - Past trends and Future Scenarios
Session II: Assessment and Modeling of Urban Morphology Change

We look forward to welcoming you to our workshop at LMU Munich in October 2022.

For further questions, please contact Dr. Andrea Reimuth or Antje Katzschner.

If you plan to attend the workshop, please register here.

Online participation is possible, however, in an audio-only format. Please contact us if you have any further questions about this.
