LMU coordinates nationwide program on Carbon Dioxide Removal
Removal and storage of CO2 from the atmosphere may play a prominent role on our way to climate neutrality both in Germany and globally. Over the coming years, more than 100 researchers will work together in a BMBF program to provide the science basis for the development of a socially acceptable, and ecologically and economically sensible mix of methods, from afforestation to geological and technical solutions. Julia Pongratz coordinates the program, LMU geographers Matthias Garschagen, Felix Havermann, Wolfgang Obermeier and Sabine Egerer contribute.
